Josh

Co-Founder / Performer

Josh is a professional puppeteer, long-form improvisor, actor with extensive experience in performance and education. As a Muppeteer for the Jim Henson Company, he has toured internationally, performing and teaching pupettry. He trained in long-form improv with Upright Citizens Brigade founders
Amy Poehler, Matt Walsh,
and Ian Roberts. Known as the "McGyver of arts & crafts, "Josh is a creative master at turning everyday materials into imaginative creations. Josh spending his free time with his two sons, playing guitar, and gardening.

Tamra

Co-Founder / Performer

Tamra is an experienced children’s educator, graphic designer, professional long-form improvisor, actress, writer, producer, editor, and director. She began her comedy career at Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in New York City, in 1999. Trained by founders Amy Poehler, Matt Walsh,
and Ian Roberts. For over
25+ years, Tamra has been teaching and performing
long-form improv comedy,
and sketch comedy across stage, film, and television. Tamra spends her free time
with her two sons, crafting, painting, playing basketball, and spending time with her family.

OUR STORY

In 1998, Josh met Tamra at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater, in New York City, where their creative partnership began. At the time, Josh had just started his career as a professional Muppeteer with The Jim Henson Company, and both he and Tamra were working actors in film and television in New York City. Together, they opened a short lived but influential pop-up comedy theater and went on to pioneer the genre of puppet improv. In 1999, they launched their touring show and have been performing at improv comedy festivals across the U.S and Canada, on-line and TV ever since.

After over 25+ years as an improv comedy duo, Josh and Tamra have shifted their focus to children’s entertainment. As a married couple with two kids of their own, they wanted to combine their experience and passion into a venture that brings joy to families and inspires kids to spend less time on screens and more time engaged in creative play.
